How did you become involved in breeding Havanese puppies?
Havanese was a new breed to AKC and I loved the cute little dog of many colors. The Havanese had a springy little gate when they walked. I like the fact they didn’ t shed and were originally bred for children. I was totally fascinated with the Havanese as a breed. Their friendly and outgoing nature made them an ideal companion, and I was captivated by their playful energy and affection. However, as I researched more about them, I discovered that understanding the breed’s personality was crucial for training, with Havanese temperament challenges explained by their occasional stubborn streak and a tendency to get overly attached to their owners. This made me realize the importance of consistent training and socialization to help them thrive as well-balanced, happy pets.

What are the some of the pros and cons of owning a Havanese?
The pros are quite, non shedding, playful, loving, small, funny and just the best all around family member.
The down side is they can be picky eaters and they do need to be groomed.

I would make sure that the breeder does all the required OFA health tests and posts them.They show their dogs so they are working on improving the breed. They belong to a club. They have a responsible contract which requires a spay/ neuter. They also require the dog to come back to you if for any reason you can’ t keep the dog. Make sure the breeder has a health certificate from a Vet and stands behind the puppy they sell you.
What type of diet do you keep your puppies on throughout the year?
I feed my puppies after they are weaned a high quality kibble.

Not big barkers, very friendly, good with children because they are a sturdy little dog.

There are many good breeders today. I do all the required OFA health tests and a couple more. I show my dogs to their championship, I stand 109% behind my breedings. I am available at all times to answer questions. I don’t keep deposits as life happens.
